About the creation of~ "Gypsy Rose"
The ' Gypsy Rose' range of hair products has been developed over the past 17 yrs by environmentally conscious hairdresser Karen Ellis. Initially Karen developed her product range for personal use, after experiencing problems with her hands and skin from years of exposure to hair dyes, perming solutions, shampoos and conditioners. It was a case of leave the profession she loved or find safer alternative products to use.
She originally started her own Mobile Hairdressing business in 1993 supplying natural hair services across 2 shires in SEQ and went onto create her own unique range "Gypsy Rose products. At the time she found her Mobile Hairdressing clients wanting to purchase them and went onto supply on a small scale. She then opened and ran her own salon in Wamuran which was renowned far and wide for it's natural hair services & Gypsy Rose products and hair cutting techniques. The salon was booked up 4 mths ahead for 8 years and because of this demand she went onto train apprentices. Meanwhile the products have grown 'by word of mouth' to over 70 outlets, this includes 12 "Organic Quality Food distributers who can also deliver 'Gypsy Rose' to your door -please see top main menu-'Outlets' tab for list or 'Order' tab for all your on line ordering info. Karen received recognition for her innovative shampoo at the Queensland Supermarket Product of the Year Awards 2002/03 by being a finalist in the non-food section and taking out a special encouragement award. The Concept is "Back to Basics" very Innovative products that all share a common trait -they are Un-Tainted , Multipurpose being one product has more than one use and of course HANDMADE. In 2004 the "Isle of Eire Pty Ltd" company ('Eire' is gaelic for Ireland) was born incorporating 'Scissorcraft' & 'Scissormagik'. In early 2006 Karen sold the salon 'Scissormagik" to a former employee and continues to run 'Scissorcraft' the original manufacturers of Gypsy Rose products. Now having the time to promote 'Gypsy Rose' and create new products, Karen endeavors to make her own ' Un-Tainted ' hair colours for the retail market-the hardest task to cover grey hair with NO synthetics! Her formulas are on the table and now the hardest part is to source the special ingredients. Stay Tuned.... The popularity of range is growing all the time-hence building her new fully solar powered earth energised factory with no connection to the grid. She is now exporting to NZ. The idea behind the Gypsy Rose products is to keep them basic, simple and naturally derived as was done in the old days - Yes it's been done before and is being done again.
