"Gypsy Rose" Un-Tainted 2 in 1 Shampoo
Does Your Hair Have a SCALP,VOLUME &/or SHINE problem? Are you tired of using Conditioner ?
2 Types~You Choose Which Oil for You in Your Shampoo??
can shave with both
-
ROSEMARY SHAMPOO - GIVES VOLUME & ROOTLIFT -TO NORMAL, OILY, and DRY HAIR
-
(Not advised during pregnancy)
-
LAVENDER SHAMPOO - FOR NO VOLUME- TO SETTLE DOWN EXTRA THICK, DAMAGED, WIRY HAIR
See front label denotes Lavender/Okay to use during pregnancy.
- Once shaken -lavender shampoo will appear more milky looking in colour than Rosemary & won't settle back like Rosemary.

|
1ST TIME USING ? - MUST Do 3 shampoos very 1st time you use 'Gypsy Rose'
(to get lather and remove build-up)
- ALWAYS do minimum of 2 washes per week (to avoid creating scalp problems)
- MUST always do 2 shampoos per wash.
- Short Hair = 1 'DOUBLE
ACTION SALT SHAKE' DIRECTLY onto 4 sections
of head. Do more shakes directly on to rest of
sections of hair - for shoulder
do 6; longer 8. If no
lather on long lengths? No need for more = still
cleans. Do not worry about waste of product when you salt shake- it is a controlled lid dispenser, just keep moving onto next salt shake-like you would on your meal.
IN'S & OUT'S - NO lather
on 1st shampoo, this shampoo
lifts oil and dirt; 2nd shampoo's lather
has a flatter bubble to cleanse
deeply and give sheen, bounce & root lift. The flatter lather will still perform though it is important to shake bottle from side to side
before use to release pectin which settles on
the bottom. This seperation is not a problem and is only proof of NO chemical emulsifiers.
NO NEED FOR CONDITIONER-DO NOT judge softness of
hair until fully dry. IGNORE feeling
of strawy hair when wet. Always use a wide tooth comb removing tangled ends first working up from bottom to crown.
100% PROVEN BIODEGRADABLE (A/S4351.5) - this is another way of testing and proving how pure it is- compared to 'certified organic products' that have a 5-30% loophole (depends on certification level) that isnt required to be 100% organic ingredients
Contains rainwater, kombucha culture,
green tea, papaw leaf, decyl glucoside (sugars derived
from corn), rosemary or lavender essential oil, apple cider
vinegar, jojoba oil, olive oil and pectin. pH
balanced.
MUST ALLOW 2 WEEK TRIAL - Improvement
in hair condition will be noticeable
once previous build-up is removed,
allowing hair and scalp to be fully revitalised.
No need to shampoo as often. Intially
shampoo will wash loose dandruff flakes from the
hair & loosen any dead split hair = All Good, as you are not loosing healthy hair.
Known to remove yellow in grey hair & green
in blondes (from swimming)
HAIR HARD TO COMB OUT? - If roots
feel great but midlengths
&/or ends very dry, use our
'Hair Shine' (Lavender or Rosemary) as a leave-in conditioner,
especially on long, permed and/or coloured. We recommend to try '2 in 1 shampoo' on it's own for 2 week trial as 'Hair Shine ' is only needed by a small percent of people.
COLOURED HAIR?-Ok to use on all types of coloured hair- But do not use on day of having colour as any 2 in 1 shampoo's conditioning effect will stop colour from taking as well- if doing at home use a plain shampoo on day prior to applying colour or if going to a salon inform them you are using a conditioning shampoo and to shampoo your hair 1st with a pre-colour shampoo.
We recommend as hairdressers that directly after any colour to wait 2 days before shampooing to let colour settle in-our shampoo is ok to use to remove colour on day and anytime from there on…. |

ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS & IMPORTANT NOTES:
SHAMPOO & HAIR SHINE & HAIR SPRAY Q & A :
1 ~Q- Im using Rosemary shampoo and I need more moisture on my midlengths and ends?
~A – If you generally feel like you are happy with rootlift of 'Rosemary' shampoo, then use our 'Rosemary' Hair Shine as a Leave-in Conditioner for more moisture & settling fullness on midlengths and ends. Your type to choose is usually to match up 'Rosemary' shampoo with 'Rosemary' Hair Shine, especially good on hair hard to comb out, long coloured &/or permed hair. Always comb hair ends first up to crown.
?? All good as a Leave-in but need extra treatment ??- you are happy with 'Rosemary' shampoo and Leave –in conditioner but just need a boost to condition and shine once in awhile?.....
Then still using Hair Shine follow the instructions for its use as a full hair and scalp treatment. Start off once a week fro a few weeks, then once a fortnight, then once a month cutting back as condition improves. Return to the regime if need be. This can be good to permanently fix a problem other than using only as a daily Leave-in (is a temporary fix only)
Interaction with 2 types ok- Alternatively- If hair is extra brittle, and has super damaged midlengths and ends due to excess chemical processes and 'Rosemary' Leave- in is only doing 50% of the job, you can use 'Lavender' Hair Shine as a Leave –in Conditioner &/or Treatment with 'Rosemary' shampoo. Our 'Lavender' Hair Shine formula is heavier and more conditioning- usually for thicker &/or wiry hair.
2~Q-How can I give my hair and scalp a boost?
~A-Remember you can do a full 'Hair & scalp treatment' using our 3 USE Hair Shine product for a real boost in condition for your hair and scalp.- especially good for your scalp and shampoo will then maintain result.
Colder temperatures (ie.winter) and stress can be the catalyst for triggering a former or present hair and scalp issue. So if this occurs repeat a full hair and scalp Treatment as often as you need.
3~Q-Do you have a 'Leave -in' for wet or dry hair?
~A #1-Our "Hair Shine" is a '3 use' product and is a Leave-in Conditioner (lavender or Rosemary). Which to choose? you usually match up same types ie. Rosemary 2 in 1 shampoo to Rosemary Hair Shine- see more info under' Hair Shine' page. For more conditioning on damaged midlengths and ends-we reccomend to use initially IST when hair is dry as Leave-in Conditioner ', if still need more moisture apply on wet hair as well after shampooing. Alternatively you can do a 'full scalp & hair treatment' with this product whenever you feel like giving it a full conditioning treat.
~A #2-Applying when hair is dry (not wet) our ‘Hair Shine’ is a good styling aid when you need it to have an extra conditioning action for settling fly away hair in between shampooing …. But if you find you still need some extra holding power for your curls or straighter style then use our 4 use 'Hairspray' as well…… SEE NEXT 2 Q BELOW
But if you find ‘Hair Shine’ too flattening and over conditioning and just need holding power then use our 4 use 'Hairspray' on its own –see under 'Hairspray' page for directions on 4 uses.
4~Q-How do I use your Hair Shine 'Leave-in Conditioner' with your 4 USE 'Hairspray?
ref: Hairspray 4 Uses are: 1.Hairspray 2.Texturiser 3. Quickset 4.Preblowdrying aid
Choose your Scenario below:
~Scenario 1= if your using either our 'Lavender' or 'Rosemary' 2 in 1 shampoo plus our 'Lavender' or 'Rosemary'' Leave-in Conditioner' to extra settle fluffy curl but wants more of a uniform soft bang curl that holds?
~A-Towel dry wet hair, lightly spray midlengths and ends with Hair Shine ' Leave-in Conditioner' until you feel condition is correct for you and then spray close same areas with our 4 Use 'Hairspray' following its 'Texturiser' use instructiuons
- Let DRY naturally or dry with a diffuser on end of your blowdryer scrunching as you go- once dry if desired -further style with hot sticks / rollers or set to get the desired definition of a bang soft curl effect. Then with our 4 Use 'Hairspray' following its 'Hairspray' use instructions spray all over for extra hold &/or a special occasion.
Using a straightening iron and want hold &/or condition? - Follow Scenario 1's answer above but replace its 'Texturiser' use instructiuons' with it's 'Hairspray' use instructions ie.spraying all over-NOT CLOSE!
~Scenario 2= your hair needs volume and your using our 'Rosemary' 2 in 1 shampoo only and you have no need for our Hair Shine 'Leave-in Conditioner" but want defined curl affect as in 'Scenario 1' above?.
~A- with our 4 Use 'Hairspray' following it's 'Pre-Blowdrying aid' use instructions-then when dry you can further style with hot sticks / hot rollers or set to get the desired definition of a bang soft curl effect. Then at end with our 4 Use 'Hairspray' following its 'Hairspray' use instructions spray all over for extra hold &/or a special occasion.
Using a straightening iron and want a NON-STICKY hold only with no need for condition? - Follow Scenario 2 answer above- BUT at end instead of using our 4 Use 'Hairspray' to hold, use our 'All Rounder Top To Toe' following its 'For your Hair' use instructions as a substitute for Hairwax (doesnt contain wax -just gives it that effect) instead of using our 4 Use 'Hairspray' to hold.
5~Q- I’m using 'Rosemary' shampoo and it’s too much volume, too strawy, hard to comb out and I need lots more moisture all round!
~A-you may have wrong type of shampoo? ie. You don’t want as much rootlift or volume as you thought?…. so 1st try our 'Lavender' shampoo without using our ‘Hair Shine’ Leave-in Conditioner as most do not need the extra product.
Then if you still need more conditioning use ‘Hair Shine’ as a Leave-in Conditioner choosing to match up the same type to type of shampoo your using. We don’t recommend using &/or alternating 2 shampoos at the same time.
Example only- I have fine hair but my hair is fully bleached and overprocessed and has enough volume on roots and ends-which shampoo ?
A: you would be traditionally determined as 'Rosemary' shampoo user because your fine and need volume, but the fully bleached head of hair would be giving you too much volume using the 'Rosemary' as it would be creating extra strawiness you already have from type of colour. In this special case you would use the 'Lavender' shampoo to give extra conditioning without flattening-if need further condition you may then use 'Lavender' ‘Hair Shine’ Leave-in Conditioner on mids and ends only, starting off with a little 1st to assure it doesn’t go too flat.
6~Q- Why don’t I get a lather on 2nd shampoo-even after my 2 week trial?
~A- Take Note your hair will be still clean even without a descriptive lather-the reason for no lather is usually a sign of a permanent foreign build-up from harsher synthetic sufactant shampoo's and /or chemical colours &/or perms (especially if you continue doing them). In time using Gypsy Rose you will get some sort of lather but don’t worry if you don’t -as long as the result in the end is clean and in your eyes when dry- looks and feels good.
The reports we have had over many years is the type of water you use isn’t a problem whether be hot, cold, tank, bore or town ( even reports from other countries is that their water hasn’t been an issue)
Remember if you stop using Gypsy Rose shampoo and go to another brand and then return to GR –you must do 3 shampoo’s in 1st wash to remove build-up again from other products no matter what the brand or how natural they appear to be. Allow 2 weeks to get PH balance back fully.
OTHER Q & A :
7~Q- Why can’t I use 'Rosemary' if I’m pregnant?
~A- as a caution we advise NO! If you love our concept and ingredients that much?…You can try to use 'Lavender' shampoo –if it’s too flat , try washing more often or even daily or simply source another brand until your in safe zone.
Generally the awareness of essential oils is that they have properties that apply to the oil in it’s purest ‘stand alone’ full strength form with no broken down components. One of the properties of Rosemary is an abortefacent- so even though we get frequently asked that it should be ok as we have many other ingredients breaking down strength of oil-WE STILL ADVISE NO as a precaution.
8~Q-Why in summer do I sometimes get irritation?
~A-Take note wearing a hat can cause irritation and the desire to itch-this is simply due to the combination of sweat, dirt and/or natural oils on your scalp under the hat. Of course any dust or outside influences can make it more of an irritation. We have had reports from men who constantly work outside that they still only wash every 2nd day but find rinsing well on alternate days is enough. If you have excess dirt etc you will know you need to shampoo out as it will be irritating -even if you have shampooed that morning.
Anyone who only washes once a week- nearly always ends up scratching as the combination of oil, sweat and dirt over that length of time does not blend well together, causing an irritation which from that you scratch off top layer of skin and can create broken skin (often seen as sores) -so always wash you hair minimum twice a week.
9~Q- Your shampoo has no big words in it but what is 'Decyl Glucoside' & Kombucha Culture?
~A#1- 'Decyl Glucoside' is produced from vegetable raw materials. Corn produces the carbohydrates (sugars)-which are converted with fatty alcohols from native oils such as RSPO palm kernel oil into decyl glucoside. It is free from Ethylene oxide, preservatives and sulphates and has excellent dermatological and Ecotoxicological compatibility.
~A#2- Kombucha culture is a pure fermented substance that has been used for 1000yrs as an internal and external health alternative for many ailments. It provides a complex mix of bio-active compounds. It requires a fermentation process before going into our shampoo.
10~Q- I thought '2 in 1' shampoo's were bad for you and contained really bad ingredients?
~A- As a hairdresser, I have always been taught this and is usually the case. A basic understanding of the concept of shampoo's and conditioners is you need both to PH balance the scalp and hair- on the PH chart shampoo is Alkaline (the cleansors that open the cuticles outside imbrications to go into the cortex and clean) and conditioners are acid (the conditioning agents that close the cuticles imbrications to give you a softer feel and the result is to PH level your hair, the PH it is left at- can be anywhere but balanced).
The final action of the conditioner can in some quality products PH balance your hair (even though they use synthetic chemicals in their formula's) - we however have with truly 'all natural' ingredients PH balanced the shampoo in it's entireity and this gives you the same results as doing the normal 2 actions using 2 products.
Of course as you've read you will not feel those final results until hair is dry so...."don't judge your hair after "Gypsy Rose' 2 in 1 shampoo until it is dry. The only time our "Leave in Conditioner" is needed is if there is:
1.alot of chemical damage on midlengths &/or ends from colours &/or perms
2. your hair just is that type that flys away
3. your hair is permanently of the wild thick wiry type.
11~Q- Why when I used the normal commercial shampoo's did it work for awhile and then I had to change brands as it ceased to perform as it did in beginning? this cycle was endless but with 'Gypsy rose' the need to change never comes around?
~A- if you had a problem with your hair &/or scalp this cycle will always be the case unless you use a special treatment shampoo which usually contains loads of synthetic combinations (most are cold tar based) than the regular synthetic ingredient lines.
Your liver has a big job to do regardless of having to deal with the extras in the 'special treatment' products. The need to change is your hair and scalp is simply getting used to the synthetic formula you currently use and by changing it you will obviously have to get a better result than the point you have reached. So the cycle goes on and on......
Our 'Un-Tainted' shampoo is honing in on PH balancing your scalp and hair (as we were when we were born) which is why the need to change is never a necessity as it just simply continues to do the same positive action everytime
12~Q- Why does the shampoo sentiment levels varie from bottle to bottle?
~A-As we have mentioned on leaflet our products will always vary in colour, look and texture = proof of the purely natural fermentation process of combining these raw ingredients. Age is the big key to setiment levels being lower or higher with NO affect to performance or preservation of product
The 'New Batches' will only appear to have a thin fine layer of brown setiment on bottom and once opened may not ferment on bottom at all. As we are a growing and will manufacture more often you will see less and less product on the shelf with high levels of fermentation.
Fermentation of our products is not an ongoing process and will cease in time and we have many bottles we are still scrutineering over the past 15 years to prove this.
-REMEMBER also the ''Lavender'shampoo once shaken can have a more milky looking appearance.
You must shake all bottles side to side in range prior to use to get full benefit of formula.
13~Q-Can you make the Hair Shine Leave-in conditioner more user-friendly for people on the go?
~A-We could solve all our seperation issues by using a synthetic emulsifier-but we do not believe in 'Big worded' ingredients and would rather have to use a little more time ,effort and good 'ol fashioned 'elbow grease' .
Peace of mind using raw ingredients is who this product is marketed too! This is a 3 use product and is absolutely pure.
Solutions to melt the coconut oil that starts to solidfiy in cooler temps is;
- put it in a pot of hot water 5 mins prior to use
- also by keeping it a warm room (kitchen') in cooler mths can help.
- keep product on bottom of shower floor while showering so it's ready to use by the time your out of shower
The 'trade off ' is that if you want truly natural you will have to do a little more work!
